Spencer Liff 


SPENCER LIFF's choreography has been seen for the last 5 seasons on the hit FOX TV series “So You Think You Can Dance”. His work on the show earned him two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Choreography in 2012, and another Emmy nomination in 2015. In 2013 Spencer choreographed the Emmy Awards starring Neil Patrick Harris, and Choreographed Best Time Ever on NBC starring Neil Patrick Harris.  Other TV choreography credits include Dancing with the Stars, How I Met Your Mother, Mike & Molly, Parks and Recreation, and the upcoming MTV series Happyland.

In addition to Deaf West's Spring Awakening, and Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Spencer’s on-stage choreography credits include Sleepless in Seattle at Pasadena Playhouse, Two Gentleman of Verona: A Rock Opera for The Shakespeare Theater Company, a newly imagined production of Oliver! For The Human Race Theater, Spring Awakening for Deaf West Theater, A Snow White Christmas and Aladdin for Lythgoe Family Productions, On a Clear Day… for MTW (director /choreographer), The Wedding Singer for MTW, Saturday Night Fever for Royal Caribbean, two original shows for Disney’s newest cruise ship The Fantasy, and Broadway by the Year at Town Hall in NYC.

As a performer, Spencer made his Broadway debut in Big-The Musical, followed by The Wedding Singer, Cry-baby, Equus, and 9 to 5. Spencer won the 2008 Fred Astaire Award as Best Male Dancer on Broadway for his role in Cry-baby for which he was also assistant choreographer and dance captain. Film and TV credits include Hairspray (Mikey), Across The Universe (Daniel), Footloose, Smash, and Gypsy with Bette Midler . Spencer has danced for two Presidents of The United Sates and performed on “The Tony Awards” 5 times, “The Academy Awards” 2 times, “The Kennedy Center Honors” 4 times and “The Grammy Awards”.
