Edgar Godineaux

EDGAR GODINEAUX, a successful performer for two decades in entertainment; before branching into choreography, he has collaborated with many Genius creatives, including Debbie Allen, Hinton Battle, Sergio Trujillo, and Michael Peters.

Edgar most recently choreographed Jelly's Last Jam at the New York City Center to rave reviews. His choreography on The Harder They Come at the Public Theatre received Lucille Lortel, Outer Critics Circle, and Drama Desk Award 2023 nominations for outstanding choreography; similarly, Edgar was a Jeff Award Nominee 2023 for his choreography in Personality: The Lloyd Price Musical in Chicago. Edgar was instrumental with Sergio Trujillo, working as his Associate Choreographer on the new Broadway musical Ain’t Too Proud and the Tony Award Winning Musical Memphis. In addition, Edgar worked on Leap of Faith and Flashdance, the Musical - National Tour, and Swing! on Broadway. He won an Olivier Award for recreating Sergio Trujillo’s choreography in Memphis in the UK production.

He toured with the iconic Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, and Diana Ross.

Featuring Grammy Award winner Jimmy Cliff’s hits, “You Can Get It If You Really Want” and "Many Rivers to Cross," former Artistic Director of Berkeley Repertory Theatre Tony Taccone directs this new musical, with co-direction by Tony Award winner Sergio Trujillo and choreography by Edgar Godineaux.
