Edgar Godineaux was a successful performer for two decades prior to branching out into choreography. As a choreographer he has collaborated with numerous creatives, including Debbie Allen, Hinton Battle, Sergio Trujillo and Michael Peters.
Edgar was instrumental with Sergio Trujillo, serving as his Associate Choreography on the new Broadway musical Ain’t Too Proud, and the Tony Award Winning Musical Memphis. In addition, Edgar worked on Leap of Faith and Flashdance the Musical - National Tour, and Swing! on Broadway. He won an Olivier Award for recreating Sergio Trujillo’s choreography in Memphis in the UK production.
Edgar performed on Broadway in productions of Swing!, Aida, Dance of the Vampires, The Pajama Game (Encore Series) and Merrily We Roll Along (Sondheim Celebration at The Kennedy Center).
Edgar's film credits include: Associate Choreographer of Idlewild (featuring Outkast, Boldin, Great Observer and The Five Heartbeats). He can be seen in the films Chicago and Robin Hood Men in Tights.
Edgar was Associate Choreographer for A Night at the Palladium UK, So You Think You Can Dance (Canada), Motown’s 30th Anniversary with Debbie Allen, and can be seen on the Dancing with the Stars’ Michael Jackson Tribute, and Glee.
He has toured with the iconic Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey and Diana Ross.
