Kym Moore (director) is co-founder and artistic director of Antigravity Performance Project and Associate Professor of Theatre Arts and Performance Studies at Brown University. Kym is an award winning playwright and director with a wide range of aesthetic and thematic interests in theater/performance.
She is currently in the final phase of developing an original multimedia performance work titled Do Eye Know You? which premieres at La MaMa E.T.C in May 2020. Recent directing credits include: Hoodoo Love by Katori Hall (The Juilliard School, Drama Division), By the Way, Meet Vera Stark by Lynn Nottage and The Road Weeps, The Well Runs Dry by Marcus Gardley (Brown University Theatre); Hype Hero by Dominic Taylor (Eugene O’Neill National Playwrights Conference), The Gospel of Loving Kindness by Marcus Gardley (Brown/Trinity Playwrights Repertory, Providence); Yermedea Raw by Erik Ehn (The Factory Theatre, Boston)), 95 Empire Black Box, Providence) La Mama E.T.C. NYC) where the production was hailed in the New York Times for its "haunting images," as well as "energizing and frightening performances." She directed Daniel Alexander Jones' Jomama Jones Radiate at SoHo Rep; which was the 2010 New York Times and Backstage Critics' Pick. In 2003 Pen and Brush Inc. awarded Kym first prize for her play, The Date. She is the 2016 winner of a Dorry Award for Director of the Year, as well as Production of the Year for her Brown University production of Marcus Gardley’s The Road Weeps, The Well Runs Dry.
Other Brown University theatre credits include: Hype Hero, Passing Strange, Gross Indecency: The Three Trials of Oscar Wilde, and Pippin, which was recognized by Broadway World.com as one of the most “whacky and innovative” interpretations of that musical worldwide. Kym is an associate member of the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers, the Lincoln Center Theater Director’s Lab, and the National Theatre Conference.
